We cordially invite the robotics community to submit proposals for hosting interactive Workshops at IROS 2021. Organizers are welcome to submit proposals for either a full-day or half-day Workshop. The Workshops will be held before and immediately after the main conference.
Workshops should focus on presenting results and promoting discussion about specific sub-topics or a well-defined active research area of interest for the robotics community. We especially encourage workshop proposals with content or presentation formats that are not found within the main conference. Workshop proposals should discuss how the workshop will be structured in order to attract active participation of the attendees, encourage effective interactions between established experts and early-career researchers, promote comprehensive discussion on the selected topic, and establish useful links to fields outside of robotics that is not possible in the regular IROS sessions.
Workshop proposals should also highlight how the invited speakers contribute to the workshop, including how they will contribute to the development of an engaging workshop throughout the entire event. When an invited speaker or organizer is involved in more than one workshop proposal, this must be noted, including which proposal he/she identifies as the most relevant to him/her. In case we receive multiple good proposals on similar topics, the acceptance may be conditional subject to merging these proposals into a single workshop.
The proposers of the workshops are encouraged to consider submitting a proposal for a Special Issue in IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L). RA-L Special Issues publish peer reviewed manuscripts responding to an open call and could be proposed by the workshop organizers. In case of acceptance by the RA-L Editorial Board, and under its supervision, the workshop organisers would act as Guest Editors. More info at https://www.ieee-ras.org/publications/ra-l/special-issues .
Proposals must be submitted via PaperPlaza and must address these points:
A Microsoft Word Template is available to help you structure the proposal. Accepted proposals will be asked to provide an abstract and a dedicated website for their event.
For any questions regarding the IROS 2021 workshops, please contact the Workshop Chair.
